Service Details: This service tackled one of most ignored sub-genres of dance music (at least by remixers) : alternative, industrial and synthpop (or using it's late 80's moniker - DOR - Dance Oriented Rock). Steve Smith, the founder also had a couple of side projects related to Art of Mix. The first, Ultra Hot Razor Cuts was to provide a wide variety of dance music. The second, Heartland, was formatted similar to the original Art Of Mix series, programming Pop and DOR. The third, Precision featured more industrial dance tracks. There was another offshoot service known as "Pop Mix" which was more commercial dance. None of these side projects lasted for more than a few issues or had quite the same impact on the dance community as Art of Mix.
